Electrician Tapping by Spark Tech Electrical

Your Local Tapping Electrician

Spark Tech Electrical is based in Padbury and works across the northern Perth corridor, with Tapping a regular part of our run. When you need a sparky in Tapping, you get a licensed electrical contractor who turns up when promised, explains the job in plain terms, and leaves the work tidy and to code. No call centre, no guesswork, just a local who knows the area and the gear in these homes.

Every job we do is carried out by qualified electricians and certified under the WA electrical licensing system. That means the work is signed off correctly and stands up to inspection, whether it is a single power point or a complete switchboard replacement.

Electrical Services We Offer in Tapping

We cover the full range of domestic and light commercial electrical work. If it runs on power, we can install it, repair it, or make it safe.

If you are renovating, extending or just chasing a flickering light you cannot pin down, we will diagnose the cause rather than throwing parts at it.

Switchboards, RCDs and Smoke Alarms

A lot of Tapping homes are newer builds, but older boards still turn up, and even modern switchboards can be short on protection. Under WA rules your home needs at least two RCDs covering all power and lighting circuits. If yours has none, or only one covering part of the house, an upgrade is worth doing for the safety of everyone inside.

Selling or leasing in WA? Before settlement or a new tenancy, a property must have at least two RCDs protecting power and lighting circuits and hardwired interconnected smoke alarms fitted. We can inspect, supply and certify both so you meet the requirement without stress.

Why Choose a Licensed Local Electrician

Cheap unlicensed work is a false economy. A licensed electrical contractor carries the right insurance, issues compliance paperwork, and follows the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules so the job is safe and legal. Spark Tech Electrical holds contractor licence EC 17280, and all metering and supply work is coordinated correctly with Western Power as the network operator.

Being local also means a faster response and someone who actually knows the streets around Tapping. You are not waiting half a day for a van to come up from south of the river.

Emergency and After-Hours Call-Outs

Power faults do not keep business hours. If you have lost power to part of the house, a safety switch that keeps tripping, burning smells from an outlet, or sparking at the board, switch it off and call us. We offer after-hours attendance for genuine electrical emergencies across Tapping and the surrounding suburbs.

While you wait, keep clear of any damaged fittings and do not try to reset a board that keeps tripping, as that often points to a real fault that needs tracing.

What Affects the Cost of Electrical Work

Every quote depends on the job in front of us, so we give you a clear price before we start rather than a vague hourly promise. Things that move the cost include the scale of the work, how accessible the wiring and roof space are, the age and condition of the existing installation, the quality of fittings you choose, and whether a switchboard or RCD upgrade is needed to bring the circuit up to standard.

Fault finding can vary too, since some faults are obvious and others take time to trace. We will always talk you through the options before committing you to anything.

Electrician Tapping FAQs

Common questions Tapping locals ask before booking an electrician. Still not sure? Just give us a call.

Yes, Tapping is part of our regular northern suburbs run. We are based in Padbury and work right across Perth's north, so Tapping jobs are well within our area. You get a local licensed electrician without the long wait or travel surcharge that comes with operators based on the other side of the city.
Western Australian rules require at least two RCDs, also called safety switches, covering all power and lighting circuits in the home. Many older boards have one or none. If you are unsure, we can check your switchboard, test what is fitted, and install additional RCDs so your home meets the current requirement and is properly protected.
Yes. In WA, before a property is sold or a new tenancy begins it must have hardwired interconnected smoke alarms fitted, along with at least two RCDs. We can supply, install and certify compliant alarms so when one sounds they all sound, giving earlier warning and keeping you on the right side of the rules.
We do. We assess your switchboard capacity, the cable run to the garage or carport, and your supply, then install a compliant home EV charger. If your board needs an upgrade to handle the load we will tell you upfront. All work is done to AS/NZS 3000 and certified, and we coordinate with Western Power where the supply needs checking.
A switch that trips repeatedly is usually telling you about a real fault, not just being sensitive. Unplug recent appliances and try resetting once. If it trips again, leave it off and call us. Forcing it back on can be dangerous. We trace the faulty circuit or appliance properly rather than guessing, so the problem is fixed at the source.
Yes. For most jobs we give you a clear price before we begin so there are no surprises. Cost depends on the scale of the work, access, the age of your wiring, and the fittings you choose. For fault finding we explain the likely time involved upfront. We never invent charges, and you approve the work before we start.
