Electrician The Vines by Spark Tech Electrical

Your Local Electrician in The Vines

Spark Tech Electrical is a licensed Western Australian electrical contractor based in Padbury, and we cover The Vines and the wider Perth metro every week. We work on everything from a single faulty power point through to a full home rewire, and we treat your place the way we would treat our own. Clean work, clear pricing before we start, and no mess left behind.

The Vines sits in Perth's north-east near the edge of the Swan Valley, an area with a good mix of established family homes, newer estates and larger properties on bigger blocks. That range means we see plenty of variety, from modern switchboards in recent builds to older boards in homes that have not been touched in years. Whatever your home, we make sure the work meets current standards and is safe for your family.

Electrical Services We Offer

We handle the full scope of domestic electrical work for The Vines homeowners, landlords and renovators. If it runs on power, we can install it, repair it or upgrade it.

  • Switchboard upgrades: replacing old ceramic-fuse or crowded boards with modern boards and protective devices.
  • RCDs and safety switches: fitting and testing residual current devices that cut power fast during a fault.
  • Power points: new outlets, USB points, outdoor and weatherproof points, plus repairs to loose or scorched sockets.
  • LED lighting: downlights, feature lighting, garden and security lighting, and energy-saving upgrades.
  • House rewiring: full and partial rewires for older homes with deteriorating or undersized cabling.
  • Fault finding: tracking down tripping circuits, flickering lights and dead points methodically.
  • Smoke alarms: hardwired interconnected alarms that meet WA requirements.
  • EV chargers: dedicated home charging circuits installed and protected correctly.

Why Choose a Licensed Local Electrician

In Western Australia, fixed electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician working under a registered electrical contractor. EnergySafety WA, part of Building and Energy, regulates the trade, and all of our work is completed to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules. Western Power is the network operator that manages supply and metering, so any work involving your connection is coordinated to their requirements.

Choosing local also means quicker response times to The Vines and someone who actually answers the phone. You get a proper electrical safety certificate where required, and the confidence that the job has been done right rather than patched over.

WA safety rule: Western Australian homes must have at least two RCDs protecting all power and lighting circuits, and hardwired interconnected smoke alarms are required when a property is sold or leased. We can check your board and bring it up to standard.

Switchboard and Safety Switch Upgrades

Many older homes around The Vines still run boards that were never designed for today's loads of air conditioning, induction cooktops, pool pumps and EV charging. If your board still uses rewireable fuses, or you only have one or no safety switch, an upgrade is one of the best safety improvements you can make. We assess the board, install compliant RCDs and circuit breakers, label everything clearly and test the lot before we leave.

Emergency and After-Hours Callouts

Electrical faults do not keep business hours. Burning smells, sparking outlets, a board that keeps tripping or a sudden loss of power all need prompt attention. We offer after-hours and emergency callouts across The Vines and nearby suburbs so you are not left in the dark or sitting with a hazard overnight. If you ever smell burning or see scorch marks, switch off the affected circuit at the board and call us.

What Affects the Cost

Every job is different, so we quote based on what is actually in front of us. Factors that influence price include the size and scope of the work, the age and condition of your existing wiring and switchboard, how easy the cabling and roof or wall access is, the number of points or fittings involved, and whether any compliance upgrades are needed to meet current rules. We talk you through the options and give you a clear price before any work begins, with no surprises at the end.

Electrician The Vines FAQs

Common questions The Vines locals ask before booking an electrician. Still not sure? Just give us a call.

Yes, The Vines is part of our regular Perth metro coverage from our Padbury base. For standard jobs we book you in at a time that suits, usually within a few days. For urgent faults like sparking outlets or a tripping board we offer after-hours and emergency callouts so you are not left waiting with a safety risk.
Yes. Spark Tech Electrical is a licensed Western Australian electrical contractor, EC 17280. All fixed electrical work in WA must be done by a licensed electrician under a registered contractor, and our work is completed to the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and regulated by EnergySafety WA. We can issue an electrical safety certificate where one is required.
Western Australian regulations require at least two RCDs, also called safety switches, protecting all power and lighting circuits in the home. Many older properties have only one or none. If you are unsure, we can inspect your switchboard, confirm how many working RCDs you have and install compliant devices to bring the board up to the current standard.
Yes. In WA, hardwired interconnected smoke alarms are required when a property is sold or made available for lease. Battery-only alarms generally do not meet that requirement. We can assess your current alarms, install compliant mains-powered interconnected units in the right locations and make sure the property is ready for sale or a new tenancy.
Yes. We install home EV chargers on a dedicated, properly protected circuit sized for the charger and your switchboard capacity. We check that your board and supply can handle the extra load, add any required protection, and make sure the installation is compliant. If your switchboard needs an upgrade first, we will let you know up front as part of the quote.
A board that trips repeatedly is usually telling you something. Common causes include a faulty appliance, moisture in an outdoor point, an overloaded circuit or deteriorating cabling. A working safety switch tripping is doing its job. We carry out methodical fault finding to isolate the cause rather than just resetting it, then repair the actual problem so it stops happening and stays safe.
